Inkubus Sukkubus: The Way Of The Witch Album Review

Inkubus Sukkubus are a Pagan Gothic Rock band from Gloucester, Gloucestershire, UK. The band consists of Candia on vocals, Tony on guitars and Roland on bass.

When I found out that Inkubus Sukkubus was releasing another album, I was “OH, this is going to be amazing”. So when they announced the title The Way Of The Witch, and posted up some snippets off the album I had to get it.

So, when I received it, I put the album on straight away, and I was blown away by it. From start to finish the album is amazing, as the songs flow into each other seamlessly. The first song The Girl In The Grey Rags is a really good opener on the album, and that follows into Angelus Bellum is one of my favourites off the album, as it has that catchy hook, not only Candia’s vocals, but with the backing vocals and brilliant guitars from Tony. plus it has that thunderous bass line which is amazing and it has some brilliant string arrangements throughout the track.

As the album went on, all the songs are beautifully arranged, with orchestral and chorus on such songs like Beneath The Moon And The Trees, and Rock guitar and orchestral arrangements on such songs as Ante Muerte and on this song there is some brilliant drums and tubular bells which run throughout the song, and this make this another favourite song of mine off the album.

The acoustic guitar The Morning Star is sublime, coupled that with Candia’s vocals, makes this song absolutely atmospherically excellent, a must listen to. And The Sea Shall Consume You is another brilliant rock track, with some brilliant some guitar work and bass line. Again with the song High On the Hill, Tony’s acoustic guitar work is amazing, Candia’s vocals is stunning, especially with the pacing of this song, the string accompaniment on this song makes even more atmospheric and totally a chill out song.

In The Shire That Made Us is another brilliant track, at the beginning of the of the song it has a good sounds of nature, and then it goes into some brilliant rock guitar and the drums and bass are really good as well and what can I say about Candia on this track, she brings everything on this track together. Another soulful song is Where Have You Gone My Daughter, where Candia shines as a singer. The last track on the album is the title song, The Way Of The Witch, this is a brilliant song and outro for the album, as it starts out with some damn good string arrangement, and the guitars are slow and on the heavier side of things and the vocals are superb on this. This is another favourite song off the album.

Well, what can I say, other than Inkubus Sukkubus, has done it again with another brilliant album in The Way Of The Witch. I would highly recommend to anyone to go and check out the band on their website or on their Facebook page.

I would give Inkubus Sukkubus and their album The Way Of The Witch a 5 out of 5 for another brilliant album
