Samarkind: Music Review

Samarkind are a Classic Rock band from Dublin, Ireland. The band consists of David Paul Byrne – Vocals, Michal Kulbaka – Guitar, Mark Dempsey – Bass and Darragh O’Hehir – Drums.

When I first heard of Samarkind last year, they had sent me a track though to play on the Project Metal Across The Pond radio show, and when I heard Thru That Door, I thought that song was pretty cool, as it had that Led Zeppelin vibe to the track and played on the show.

In time I received two more tracks from the band, and they were Sun Stroke Heart and Fire And Blood. When I heard Sun Stroke Heart for the first time, I thinking, OK this good! as this has a harder edge to what Thru That Door has, especially on the drumming and guitars, the vocals are on point, and in places throughout the song, it has a Southern Rock vibe to it, it also has some really cool riffs and guitar solos within the song.

The other track that that I got was Fire and Blood, this track is similar with Sun Stroke Heart as it has a Southern Rock vibe to it but it also has a slight Prog Rock vibe to it, the vocals have soaring edge to them, which lends to the Prog Rock vibe, and there is some cool guitars and drums on this track.

So, what can I say about Samarkind, that I haven’t said already, this band is really good and I recommend that, if you are into the Classic Rock genre, or you looking for a new band to listen to, then you should go and check Samarkind out on their Facebook and Website pages for more information.

I would give Samarkind and the three songs, a 4 out of 5, for three brilliant songs
