Torture Squad: Far Beyond Existence Album Review

Torture Squad are a Death and Thrash Metal band from São Paulo, Brazil. The band consists of May “Undead” Puertas (Vocals), Rene Simionato (Guitars), Amilcar Christófaro (Drums) and Castor (Bass).

Over the last few years, I have come across a good few bands that have hailed out of Brazil, most notably, Sepultura, Soulfly, Cavina, Thunderspell, and Brutallian, just to name but a few. When I did a little research on Torture Squad they also hail from Brazil, and they are in good company, with some brilliant bands that I have mention above.

I have said in previous posts, that I am not a huge fan of Death Metal, but a fan of the genre nonetheless. When I put on the Far Beyond Existence album on to listen to what Torture Squad had created, I was thinking, OK, you have got my attention, as you have covered W.A.S.P.’s Inside The Electric Circus and Motorhead’s Overkill songs.

As I am listened to the album, the songs that I found that I liked or that I found interesting are: Dont Cross My Path, No Fate, Blood Sacrifice, Steady Hands, Hate, Hero For The Ages, Far Beyond Existence, Cursed By Disease, You Must Proclaim, Inside The Electric Circus, Divine Step, Overkill and Unknown Abyss.

Far Beyond Existence song has to be one of my favourites off the the album, as it has some brilliant musicianship on this track, and it is amazing song to headbang to. On Cursed By Disease, they have some really good guitars, as they are de-tuned to give that heavy grinding sound and the drums are pretty good, as they help drive the song long at a good pace. You Must Proclaim is a song that if you are a fan of the riff you will love this as there is some sweet riffs throughout the track, and you will say OH Yeah!! this is way cool. With the song Inside The Electric Circus, yes this is a cover of the W.A.S.P. song, I have heard good few cover versions of WASP songs, some were good some weren’t so good and the Torture Squad version is one of those that is good and I recommend that you go and check it out, as Torture Squad has put their own stamp on it.

If you want to hear a new band or if you like the Death and Thrash Metal genres, then you will like Torture Squad, as this band is really good and I would highly recommend that you go and check Torture Squad out on their Facebook page.

I would give Torture Squad and their album Far Beyond Existence a 4.5 out of 5 for a brutally good album.
