Rome In Monochrome: Away From Light Album Review

Rome In Monochrome are a Doom, Shoegaze, Slowcore and Post-Rock band from Rome, Italy. The consists of Valerio Granieri/lead vocals, Gianluca Lucarini/lead guitar, backing and harsh vocals, Alessio Reggi/lead guitar, Marco Paparella/guitar, violin, Riccardo Ponzi/bass and Flavio Castagnoli/drums.

Now, over the last six months or so, I have been getting a good few bands from Italy, and I haven’t heard a bad band from Italy, and Rome In Monochrome, is one of those bands that ARE good. Over the last few days, I have listened to the Away From Light album a good few times and my initial impressions, like I said, are pretty good.

When I sat down and listened to this album more closely, I can see why I like Rome In Monochrome, as these guys are really good musicians and songs writers. After listening to the album a couple of more times, the songs that I found that I like or I have found interesting are: Ghost Of Us, A Solitary King, Paranoia Pitch Black, December Remembrances, Until My Eyes Go Blind, Between The Dark And Shade and Only The Cold. All these tracks, I have found that they are very atmospheric in their presentation and this is one of the reasons why I like these tracks.

All the tracks that I have mentioned, have got some really good music, as Rome In Monochrome have written really good album here, in Away From Light. The songs above, have got some brilliant guitars, drums and vocals. and this is why I like them.

If you are into the Doom genre or you are wanting to get into the genre and looking for a new band, then I would recommend that you go and check Rome In Monochrome out on their Facebook page.

I would give Rome In Monochrome and their album Away From Light a 4.5 out of 5, for a really good atmospheric album.
