Avida Dollars: Catarsis EP Review

Avida Dollars are a Rock band from Barcelona, Spain. The band consists of Pablo Franco (Guitarra y voz), David Camilleri (Guitarra), Xavi Camilleri (Bajo y berridos) and Monchu López (Batería).

Over the last few weeks, I have been getting a good few bands from Spain, primarily from Barcelona sending me their music, and from what I have heard from those bands they have brilliant. So, I have high expectations from Avida Dollars.

As I listened to the EP for the first time, my initial thoughts were, OK, these guys are pretty decent. After a few more listens to the Catarsis EP, I started to enjoy the overall sound what they have created on this EP. I liked the drums and guitars on it.

Out of the six tracks that are on the Catarsis EP, the songs that I have found that I liked or I have found interesting are: Sombra y Luz, Los Niños Perdidos, A Ciegas, Volvamos a Vencer, Catarsis and Exodo.

I really liked the title track Catarsis, as this is a slow chilled out song, and I loved how they added some violins to the track to give it that depth, Catarsis is probably my favourite track off the EP. After I have listened to the EP, and had time to let it sink in, I have found that I really like Avida Dollars and would love to hear more from these guys in the future.

Well, if you are into the Rock genre or wanting to listen to a new band, then Avida Dollars is a band that you should go and check out, you can find them on their Facebook page and I recommend that you do go and check them out.

I would give Avida Dollars and their Catarsis EP a 4.5 out of 5 for a really good EP.
