Freaky Jelly are a Progressive Metal band from São Paulo, Brazil. The band consists of Ricardo DeStefano: Vocals, Andre Faustino: Guitars, Mauricio Grosso: Drums, Rafel de Paula: Bass and Julio Vince: Keyboards. 
When Freaky Jelly sent me the Reverse album, I didn’t know what to expect, and when I put the album on to have a listen. Whilst I was having an initial listen through, I did a little research on the band, and I found that these guys are from Brazil. Brazil like Canada, is another country that, in recent years, have been producing some amazing rock and metal bands. Freaky Jelly is one of those bands that are amazing.
The Reverse album is a Prog Metal album, with some characteristics and influences from the 1970’s Prog Rock bands, but the band has put a very modern twist to it. As I listened to this album a good few times now, the Reverse album is really good, the band has blended Prog and Metal really well.
The Songs that impressed me the most are Reflections, Highest Ground, Alicia’s Garden, Nothing To Feel, Saints and Sinners, Hardest Part Of Goodbye, Illusions, Wake Up and Morning Glory. Now If you take Pink Floyd, Yes, Emmerson, Lake and Palmer, Marillion and Rush, and you throw them into the mixing bowl, you get Freaky Jelly out of the bowl. 
On the first track of the album, Reflections is a brilliant album opener, as this song has amazing guitars throughout the track, which into it continues through the rest of the album. I have to say that I have become a huge fan of Freaky Jelly after listening to their Reverse album. Plus, I will be playing some of their music on my radio show Project Metal Across The Pond on the Digital Revolution Radio station.
