Desolate Shrine: Deliverance from the Godless Void Album Review

Desolate Shrine are a Death Metal band from Helsinki, Finland. The band consists of L.L. – All instruments, M.T. – Vocals, lyrics and R.S. – Vocals.

Over the last 25 + years, when I first really discovered Black Metal, I was sort of like What is this? But over the years, I started to like the genre, but I didn’t really started into it until around 2006, as a friend of mine reintroduced me to it, after I took a break from the genre for six to seven years. From 2006 onwards, I have slowly gotten back into it, that is until August of 2016, when I started to The Rock Casserole radio show on Digital Revolution Radio, on the show there is a segment Around The World in 30, it is where they play all the Extreme Metal, such as Black and Death Metal. Since then I have really gotten back into the genres of extreme metal. Even though I have been listening to Black Metal on and off for a number of years, as I am still on the fringes of it and the more I learning about it, the more I like the genre.

When I put the Deliverance from the Godless Void album on, and listened to it a few times, I really enjoyed it. The songs are well written, crafted and performed. The songs that I found that I was drawn to off the album are: The Primordial One, Lord of the Three Realms, Unmask the Face of False, The Graeae, Demonic Evocation Prayer and …Of Hell. The whole album is brilliant, the songs that I listed above, like I said, are the ones that was attracted to and enjoyed the most.

Overall, I would say that Desolate Shrine are a brilliant band and has created an amazing piece of work in Deliverance from the Godless Void, and they are one of the good few Death Metal bands that has gotten me back into the genre.

If you are into Death Metal and are looking for a new band to get into or just looking for a new band to get into, I would highly recommend that you go and check out Desolate Shrine, you can find them on Facebook for more information on them.

I would give Desolate Shrine and their album a 4.5 out of 5, for being one of the bands that has shown me the Death Metal genre is really good.
