Fyrecross are a Heavy Metal band from Athens, Greece. The band consists of Giorgos Skourtaniotis: Vocals (backing), Guitars (lead), Matt Kliszka: Guitars (lead), Vocals (backing), Charis Kambitsis: Drums, Vocals (backing), Raff Kritoulis: Vocals, Theo Karageorgos: Bass. Fyrecross was formed in the late 2013, and they have a love of the genre NWOBHM.
After I have listened to this four track EP Burn Them To The Ground, a good few times, I must say that it is pretty good. Now, the band are heavily influenced by NWOBHM, and I could definitely hear it in the music. I could Iron Maiden on the instruments and Judas Priest on the vocals and a few other bands from the eighties here and there in the overall sound of Fyrecross.
The first track up is Fyrecross, this song is really good, as there is a lot riffs which are really good, and the vocals are on point. This is a solid track and I can see it going places within the metal world.
Widow’s Revenge is next. this follows on from Fyrecross, with its riff laden soundtrack, coupled with the drumming and vocals, this track is fast becoming one of my favourites of the EP.
Dance Of The Witch is the shortest track off the EP, coming in just under three minutes, but it is a tremendous instrumental, and it showcases the musicianship of the band, and this is another track that is fast becoming a firm favourite of mine.
Heavy Metal Battles is the last track off the Burn Them To The Ground. At the start of the song you can hear their influence of Iron Maiden in the guitars and it continues throughout the song, and I must say that this is my favourite track off the EP, as some of you may know that I am a huge fan of Iron Maiden.
As I sit here, listening to the Burn Them To The Ground EP, I am thinking that Fyrecross is – if they can keep up what they are doing – going places. I would highly recommend that you go and check this band out on their Facebook page for more information.
I would give Fyrecross and their EP a 4.5 out 5, this is a band that has some great tune-age and you need keep an eye on.
