1818: Hiraeth E.P. Review

1818 is a Rock/Metal band from Shippensburg, PA, USA. The band consists of Paul Saliga Voice, Whit Bender Bass, Cody Wright Guitar and Scott Magruder Drums.

After I have listened to 1818’s Hiraeth E.P. I have come to the conclusion that this is one hell of an E.P.

The tracks on this E.P. are Seven, Believe, Swallow, Bastard and Yesterday Calls Me Home. Throughout this offering you can tell that they are superb musicians. Seven is up first and this is a brilliant opener as it has some amazing guitars and guitar solos. On Believe there is some sweet guitar solos, and brilliant drumming, overlaid with excellent vocals.

Swallow is a bit slower than the first 2 tracks, but still a good song, as it shows diversity of the band that they can do the slower stuff of metal. Bastard is one of those tracks that is like a jack hammer, where it pounds your head until you start to nod and tap your foot and you say Damn that track was good.

Yesterday Calls Me Home is the last track and it is a really good track, bit slow for my liking at the beginning but it does pick up, and finishes off with a crescendo which I love. The most outstanding tracks off this E.P. for me is Seven, Believe and Yesterday Calls Me Home, as these tracks really show the bands talent.

I highly recommend any self respecting metal head to go and check 1818 out, as this band is really good. You can check them out on their Facebook page.

I would give 1818’s Hiraeth E.P. a 4.5 out of 5, you have made a new fan here.
