Pestilent Age: Medieval Holocaust Album Review

Over the last few months, a lot of bands have approached Project Metal Music asking what we do, and the simple answer is we review albums, E.P.’s, gigs and we do interviews. But when PMM gets a message through Twitter saying to check a band out, we do, one band that I was asked to check out is Pestilent Age.

So I checked out one of their videos, and from what I have heard and seen they are pretty good, so retweeted the video and after a couple of hours the band got in contact with me and and thanked me for like the video and retweeting their video. After awhile of sending messages back and forth, they sent me a link to their website, after I asked them if they got an album or  an E.P. out, and they said that they have an album out called Medieval Holocaust and the album is on their website for Download, but you can listen to it before you decide to download, this is their website for you to check out.

If you like thunderous guitars, pounding drums and death growls, you’ll love this album. Suffering Through Inconceivable Rape and Torture is the first track off the album and  it sets the album perfectly as they tell the story of the brutality of the medieval times.

Grotesque Enslavement and Godless are 2 stand out tracks for me as they are as they have some sweet shreds and nice drums.

Medieval Holocaust, the title track, is another track that stands out, as it is brutal has hell, as there is a lot of grinding of the guitars and you can not listen to this and not nod your head to the song in appreciation to the writer and musicians.

Trashed is the 5th track off the album and it has a Speed/Thrash vibe to it, compared to the overall sound of Death Metal on the album and if you are a Speed Metal fan you’ll love this as the band plays Speed/Thrash Metal really well.

Slipping Into An Altered State Of Consciousness and Red Genocide, these tracks, they went in the same vain as Trashed, with the Speed Metal but they got the Death Metal overlay on them with the Death Growls and the punishing double bass drums and guitars.

Corporate Slavery is another stand out track on the album as it has that extremeness to it that any Death/Speed/Thrash Metal fan would enjoy listening to it. Monster On 63rd Street the drums on this track is brilliant as they carry the song through from start to finish, and with the guitars adding the cherry on top of the fantastic song.

Coffin Birth and the last song Black Death are brutal and dark in the subject matter, that these tracks are really good with the vocals.

Medieval Holocaust overall is one hell of an album, its one of the best Death Metal albums around in 2016. So if you like your Death/Speed/Thrash Metal you’ll enjoy and love Pestilent Age and their album Medieval Holocaust.

I would give this a 4.5 out of 5

  3. I think what you said was actually very reasonable. However, think on this, suppose
you typed a catchier title? I ain’t suggesting your content is not solid, however suppose you added
a post title to possibly get people’s attention? I mean Pestilent Age:
Medieval Holocaust Album Review – Project Metal Music
is a little vanilla. You ought to glance at Yahoo’s home
page and see how they create article titles to
grab people to click. You might add a video or a related picture or two to get people interested about what you’ve got to say.

In my opinion, it would make your website a little livelier.
